How to install dlc fpkg files on a game that is stored on an external hdd?

I have a game which has a few dlcs to it, but I dont want to install the game on my internal hdd on my ps4. so I store it in my external hdd. but how can I install the dlcs so they would work? do I just have to install them to my internal hdd? or is there another way?
